Imagine yourself surrounded by hundreds of happy people, sloshing drinks and devouring heaps of traditional German food. In the background, a lively, high-energy band plays German music, while lederhosen-clad waitresses tend to the masses. This is Oktoberfest—a festival known for its beers, sausages and full-blown, fun-filled celebrations. Although this is deemed a can’t-miss activity, it’s not always possible to make it to Germany every October.
