Smoky Mountain Military & Relic Show

Smoky Mountain Military & Relic Show

Over the centuries, the beautiful Smoky Mountains have preserved a rich cultural tapestry of Southern Appalachian history—from the prehistoric Paleo Indians and European settlement to the American Civil War. As a celebration of this history, the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is hosting its 5th Annual Smoky Mountain Military and Relic Show from August 23–24, 2014.

This summer event will feature a parade, indoor and outdoor displays, re-enactments, authentic relics and more. You’ll get to explore genuine Civil War-era muskets, rifles, pistols, photographs, uniforms, and other artifacts you won’t find anywhere else, while creating wonderful memories with your family.

The Parade

The weekend kicks off with a special Celebrate Freedom Vietnam Appreciation Parade in downtown Pigeon Forge. The parade, which forms at 9 am, delivers a truly wonderful and emotional celebration of America’s veterans. Cheering crowds fill the streets to watch as color guards, military vehicles, re-enactment groups, floats and bands flow past them. Afterwards, everyone marches to The Smoky Mountain Convention Center for the main exhibit, the Military and Relic Show.

Travelling WallSpecial Events

The latest addition to the 2014 Smoky Mountain Military & Relic Show is the indoor Cost of Freedom Tribute—a beautiful exhibit honoring those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country. The centerpiece of the exhibit, the Traveling Wall, displays the names of fallen heroes from the Vietnam War to present. The tribute was created to remember, educate and pay respect to veterans, active duty military, police officers, and firefighters—anyone whose daily job is to put themselves in harm’s way to protect our way of life.

Exciting Additions

There will be even more exciting things to see and do this year, including a VVA Color Guard Competition, Military Vehicle Restoration Competition, and Military Memorabilia Show. Also, for 2014 you’ll get to experience a myriad of different vendors offering everything from American Indian antiques to present day weaponry.

Whether you are a serious collector or just looking for a little historic fun with the family, the Smoky Mountain Military and Relic Show has something for everyone!
