Celebrating the 4th, Orlando-Style

4th of July Orlando-Style

For most people, the 4th of July means barbecues, fun in the sun and of course, fireworks. And while you may have witnessed some impressive fireworks displays before, nothing compares to the amazing pyrotechnic extravaganzas that go on in and around the city of Orlando, Florida during Independence Day weekend!

From Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista to Daytona’s International Speedway, and from Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando to LEGOLAND® Florida in Winter Park, Central Florida’s skies will explode in a thundering spectacle of fiery colors and patterns, often accompanied by stirring patriotic music, parades and other fanfare.

If you’re planning on celebrating the 4th, Orlando-style, here’s a short list of where to go to catch the most spectacular displays of pyrotechnic patriotism:

On both July 3rd and July 4th, the evening culminates at 9 p.m. with the breath-taking fireworks spectacular Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky rocketing into the air above Cinderella Castle, accompanied by an inspiring musical score that will fill you with patriotic pride. For the best vantage point, arrive early and stand anywhere on Main Street, USA, at the Castle forecourt or on the surrounding bridges.
  • Disney Castle FireworksEpcot: On July 4, enjoy a special concert of great American songs by Voices of Liberty at America Gardens Theater, and meet some favorite Disney characters in patriotic attire outside The American Adventure. That evening at 10 p.m., “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” joins the celebration with a heart-pounding, pyrotechnic grand finale in the World Showcase Lagoon, with great views from virtually anywhere in the World Showcase.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: At 6 p.m., A “Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration” at the Sorcerer’s Hat Stage kicks off featuring a DJ and “Mulch, Sweat and Shears”–a rockin’ house band that will take you on a rock ‘n roll road trip across America and highlight each region’s contribution to rock n’ roll. Synchonized fireworks, lighting and special effects combine to bring a unique twist to this Independence Day celebration.
