Mothers Day is celebrated by approximately 96% of the American population, according to Hallmark. It is among the most active days for phone calls and the the busiest day of the year for many restaurants. Because mothers love to be wined, dined and doted on, it is your job as a child, husband, sibling or whatever, to help the mother closest to you celebrate.
Take Mom to Hershey, Pennsylvania for a day of chocolaty bliss—if not this year, then plan ahead to treat her to the best.
#1. The Spa at Hotel Hershey
While you’re in Hershey, take her to The Spa at Hotel Hershey. Let her indulge in the Hershey Rose Garden Collection, where a Rose Garden Hydrating Body Wrap not only moisturizes, but exfoliates and revitalizes skin. Or treat her to a Rose Garden Massage, a fusion of Eastern and Western massage styles that includes chakra balancing, spinal pressures and muscle release. Even the less time-intensive appointments, such as manicures and pedicures, are welcome luxuries. The spa also offers couples massages if you’re in the mood to keep her company during the day.
#2. The Forebay
After she is relaxed and ready for some dinner, there are plenty of options for dining that are nearby. The Forebay at Hershey Lodge offers an abundant menu that includes naturally raised meat and poultry. All food is prepared without artificial trans-fats and chemical additives. All the soups, dressings and sauces are made in-house, and if you’re bringing children to dinner, the restaurant offers a children’s menu. The setting is upscale casual, and entrees are moderately priced.
#3. Hershey Pantry
Save room for dessert, because hopefully you got one of the incredible pies from Hershey Pantry. Handmade pie shells hold fillings such as coconut cream, chocolate cream, chocolate banana cream, apple streusel, peach cream, and raspberry crumb. Drooling yet? Not a pie person? Don’t worry, there are cakes. Take your pick of delicious Red Velvet Cake, Mocha Torte, Banana Split Cake, Carrot Cake or Peanut Butter Cake.
These aren’t all the choices in desserts at this magnificent establishment, so give them a call or swing by before Mother’s Day and keep it at your vacation villa to share later. The shop is not open on Sundays, so you will need to be pre-emptive in your approach. Trust us though, the effort to get a dessert here will not go unnoticed, nor under-appreciated.
These are just a few options to make your Mother’s Day vacation in Hershey pleasant and memorable. The mom in your life deserves all the sweetness you can show her.
