Summer. The days are long and warm, the sun is high and the rivers are wide, and running through Wisconsin. Vacations to outdoor locations are in full swing. The annual Wisconsin Dells Riverfest will take place again this year in June and bring to town the excitement associated with warm summer days in the Dells.
Riverfest athletes and attendees will gear up for a series of races throughout the day. Competitors can register for a 2K kayak race, 5K run or 30K bike ride. The festival also includes a single or group triathlon, in case one race isn’t enough. If you’ve planned a vacation to the Dells during this time, jump into the competition or sit back and watch the festivities. Both will be fun!
Spectators are invited to participate in beginner kayak clinics, where boats are provided, race a minnow and browse the vendors on the festival grounds at Drinker’s Landing. Visitors can enjoy refreshments on the grounds or at the nearby River Walk Hotel and River Walk Pub. There will also be a raffle for a kayak at noon. Plenty of kids’ activities will be going on to keep the young’ens entertained as well.
After the races are over, stay and see the sights of the Dells. Cruise the streets and window shop, grab a bite to eat and enjoy yourself!
