November 25, 2016 through January 2, 2017 is the most wonderful time of the year at Busch Gardens® Williamsburg. That’s when 8 million lights sparkle and twinkle throughout Christmas Town,™ setting the park aglow with one of the most spectacular holiday displays in North America. Enjoy the spirit of the season with festive entertainment, food and drink, holiday shopping, and amazing rides, too!
Visit Santa Claus in the North Pole
Whether you know him as St. Nick, Kris Kringle, Jolly Old Elf or just Santa, this beloved holiday figure is one of the biggest and brightest stars of Christmas—and Christmas Town. Be on the lookout for Santa throughout the park. From retro advertising and statues of the man in the big red suit to a fireside feast, there are many opportunities to spend the holidays with Santa.
Everyone at Santa’s Workshop in the North Pole is busy getting ready for the big journey on Christmas Eve. Luckily, Santa and Mrs. Claus will always make time to meet good boys and girls (even the naughty ones). If you’re planning a Christmas vacation to Williamsburg, you’ll find him in his study, located between two reindeer stables. Peek in through the snow-glazed windows to see Santa posing for pictures with children. Step through the front door where you’ll be greeted by elves. Be sure your kids have their list ready so they can tell the man in the big red suit exactly what they want for Christmas.
Of course, Christmas isn’t just about Santa Claus. You can also encounter the animals living in Highland Stables along the Scottish countryside during your visit to Christmas Town. The rustic setting and smell of fresh hay just might have you thinking about dashing through the snow in a sleigh. This experience gives your kids an opportunity to see blackface sheep, Border collies and Clydesdales.
Stroll along the Polar Pathway and surround yourself with enchanting views of Italy’s Escape from Pompeii.® The waterfalls of this ride have turned icy under cool blue lights and the smell of fresh pine in the air will make you feel all warm inside.
You’re definitely invited to take part in reindeer games at Rudolph’s Winter Wonderland. Try your luck at Bumble’s™ Snowball Toss, then pose for some pictures with Rudolph, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius and even the loveable bouncing Bumble. Top off your experience with a mug of hot cocoa and a cinnamon bun at Cocoa Café®—it’s a great way to warm you up and be prepared just in case anyone asks you to help them guide their sleigh.
If your family is looking for amusement park entertainment, Sesame Street Forest of Fun has rides perfectly suited for the little ones. Grover’s Alpine Express introduces kids to the thrills of roller coasters. Prince Elmo’s Spire takes little helpers and big kids up a tower for views similar to what Santa might see as he flies through the nighttime sky. For bigger thrills with lots of chills, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is pleased to announce that Verbolten® and Tempesto®—two of the parks most awesome coasters—will be open during the event.
Enjoy a heartwarming selection of family-friendly entertainment.
