First Saturday Art Walk
While it is possible to spend your entire vacation in the comfort of the Solara Surfside resort, you really should look into other Miami attractions and make plans to partake in the First Saturday Art Walk along Lincoln Road Mall. From 7p.m. to 10p.m. on the first Saturday of every month, Miami art galleries such as Art Center South Florida, Britto Central, Gallery Déjà vu and Peter Lik open their doors for guests to browse through paintings, photographs and sculptures. The Lincoln Road Mall is home to over 40 art galleries. Go look! Enjoy the festivities of the First Saturday Art Walk. Listen to the live music along the street and grab a bite to eat. There are restaurant specials that correspond with the Miami art event.
Miami Beach Botanical Gardens
This 4.5-acre park showcases orchids, bromeliads, a Japanese garden and a plethora of tropical plants and trees. The Miami botanical garden is free and there are often events and programs that are open to the public. Visiting the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while still soaking in a little South Florida culture. The garden is only a short ride up A1A from Solara Surfside. The drive to the gardens is even beautiful, as the road parallels the ocean. Who knows, you may even find other Miami attractions on the way to the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens!
When you plan your Miami vacation, be sure to include these attractions. Not only are they easy on the wallet, they are close to Solara Surfside and help explain what Miami culture is all about. It is a fun, artsy, eclectic and beautiful place.
