Dock’s Oyster House of Atlantic City


Since 1897, the Dougherty family has owned and operated Dock’s Oyster House, right near the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. Though the restaurant has gone through renovations and new generations of the family have taken over, Dock’s Oyster House is still proud to serve quality seafood and steak, in a laid back atmosphere. As the name suggests, Dock’s Oyster House is known for its oysters. They can be ordered individually or as a sampler platter. The oysters come with Dock’s Oyster House’s house-made cocktail sauce and cider mignonette. The menu boasts many oyster options, including Apalachicola oysters from Florida, Old Salt oysters from Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, and Cape May Salts from New Jersey.

Additional raw bar favorites like shrimp cocktail and clams on the half shell are available for your enjoyment. You can even go all out for Dock’s Oyster House Shellfish Sampler, featuring mussels, oysters, shrimp ceviche, crabmeat and more. Additional appetizers that are perfect for sharing include calamari or oysters Rockefeller, while salads and soups fill the menu as well. Dock’s Oyster House offers a variety of signature entrees to choose from as well, which includes Crab Meat Au Gratin, jumbo lump crab meat blended with cheese and cream sauce. Yum.

You won’t be able to resist the lobster options though, which tend to weigh between 2 and 6.5 pounds. These massive crustaceans can be steamed or broiled, and even stuffed with crab. And for the steak lovers, the menu includes massive meat options like the Dock’s Oyster House colossal Cowboy Steak, weighing in at 26 ounces, filet mignon, lamb, and sirloin, amongst the other selections. On the side, broccoli rabe, onion rings, and asparagus can be added to round out the meal. And to wash it all down, Dock’s offers an award-winning wine list, available by the glass or bottle.

Dock’s Oyster House is located just over a mile from Bluegreen at Atlantic Palace resort. Go for a nice walk and explore the Boardwalk before your visit or hop in the car to get there in just minutes. Dock’s Oyster House offers free parking available next door to the restaurant.
