So you’re looking into getting married or renewing your vows in Las Vegas and wondering where to have the ceremony. This is just a guess, but if you’d wanted to splurge on an expensive destination wedding, you probably wouldn’t be browsing here. You’d have picked someplace like Antigua or St. Lucia. So let’s assume we can skip the super-elegant and fairly high-end packages at top Las Vegas casino hotels. If that assumption is incorrect, we’ll leave you to explore those options on your own. (Stick around for now, though. We’ll cover a bargain-priced wedding option at one hotel and casino that’s “high end” in another way.)
But if you want a Vegas ceremony with a pure Vegas vibe but inexpensive enough to allow you to turn your stay into a full-blown vacation, we’ll suggest a dozen true roses—12 wedding or renewal ceremonies under $500.
Outside the $500 price limit, but fun
Talk about the “Twilight” zone. For $899 at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapels, Edward the teen vampire will officiate your ceremony. An extra $200 gets you Bella as well.
Or if you’re so inclined, you can explore similar themed packages at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapels, all also outside the price range, including A Wedding with (not the real) Tom Jones as well as a James Bond Wedding, Camelot Wedding, Egyptian Wedding, Gangster Wedding, Gladiator Wedding, Hollywood Starlet Wedding, Western Wedding, Woodstock Wedding and Zombie Wedding.
Viva Las Vegas also offers a helicopter wedding. You won’t find it in the “Themed Weddings” section of the website. Check instead in “Traditional Weddings.”
Only in Vegas—right?
Now, as for weddings under $500:
At Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapels
The French Garden Chapel is one of six chapels at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapels. Secluded by pillars and Italian cypresses, the shady open-air chapel is the setting for the (1) Daytime Garden Wedding package. This a $425 package that includes an extensive list of extras such as complimentary limo service, a wedding coordinator, free wedding website, posed and candid photos, music, a wedding DVD, and your name splashed across the marquee out front. And as with any Viva Las Vegas ceremony priced at least $375, you also receive a $50 gasoline gift card provided that you request while making your reservation.
Could there be a more appropriate setting for a marriage ceremony officiated by Elvis than a chapel decorated as a 1950s diner, complete with jukebox? The Doo Wop Diner is another chapel at Viva Las Vegas, and the $375 (2) Teddy Bear in the Diner package gets you most of the same extras as the garden package, plus a two-song serenade from your minister. And you also qualify for the gas card.
A Little White Chapel
You can get married or renew your vows for as little as $55, the basic chapel fee for an (3) A La Carte ceremony at A Little White Chapel. The price covers use of a chapel, beautifully decorated, for the event. The Little White Chapel also will provide traditional music, a non-denominational minister (tipped separately), and complimentary limo service to and from the ceremony (within a 5-mile radius).
You can then add on whatever paid extras you like off the chapel’s menu of products and services, ranging from garters for $15 to an (4) Elvis Serenade/Pink Cadillac combo for $325. Digital photo packages are also available in three tiers, from $75 to $250.
You also can arrange to be married or renew your vows at an actual drive-up window at A Little Wedding Chapel. The packages include (5) Cherubs’ Chariot for $179. You’ll receive digital photos, roses, a groom’s boutonniere, a bridal garter, two unique mementoes and use of a complimentary limo for the ceremony. There’s also (6) Biker’s Special Lover’s Lane for $139 (bike rental not included). And if you want to keep costs to the minimum, use your own car in the (7) Drive Thru Special for $40.
At Little Church of the West
The Little Church of the West, Las Vegas’ oldest wedding chapel, offers a couple of budget-conscious options. The extras for the (8) Let’s Elope package for $199 include a professional photo session indoors and outdoors plus a $50 photo voucher, custom-designed certificate holder, personalized online wedding announcements page and 30-day webcam. The (9) Tie The Knot package for $375 provides the amenities named above but doubles the value of the photo voucher and also adds roses, a boutonniere and music at the ceremony. As in most Las Vegas wedding packages, the minister fee is separate. Here, as in most cases, the fee is $60—although if you’re into enhancing the romantic ambience, for $160 you can retain a minister who speaks French.
At Graceland Wedding Chapel
If you’re really into Elvis Weddings, Graceland Wedding Chapel offers several package options for less than $500. A standard amenity for each is a complimentary wedding certificate—Elvis and Priscilla’s. Among a few other standard extras in the (10) Viva Las Vegas package ($199), Elvis will walk the bride down the aisle and sing two songs. The (11) Can’t Help Falling In Love package ($429) not only expands the standard extras but also increases the King’s set list to three. And in addition to walking the bride down the aisle, he gives her away, too.
At Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower
For just $375 on Sundays through Thursdays, $400 on Fridays or Saturdays and $450 on holidays, you can be married on one of the thrill rides at the top of the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower in the (12) Thrill Ride Wedding package. Yep, you two lovebirds, along with two guests, will strap in to SkyJump™, Insanity, X-Scream or Big Shot. Once you hear the magical words, “I now pronounce you man and wife,” you immediately plunge 855 feet /spin at the end of a mechanical arm / dangle off a teeter-tottering track / shoot up the Stratosphere Tower pinnacle needle. You’re tying the knot and then tying your stomach in a knot.
Complementary extras provided by the resort’s Chapel in the Clouds include a bottle of champagne and waived admission charge to the tower for 15 guests. Not included in the package: $60 minister’s fee. Available with upgrade: Elvis impersonator.
Weddings and renewals like these are not only fun, they’ll save you money to enjoy everything that Las Vegas brings to a honeymoon.
