Branson: Missouri Eating at its Finest

Branson, Missouri, also known as The Live Music Show Capital of the World, is famous for serving up a smorgasbord of entertainment. After the shows, or anytime during your vacation to the Ozark Mountains, you can fill up with tasty food at a variety of great places to eat.

These are five of our favorite restaurants in Branson.

Mel’s Hard Luck Diner

For more than 20 years, Mel’s Hard Luck Diner has been dishing up plates of mouthwatering food with sides of song. That’s because the wait staff (and occasionally the cooks and bus staff) sing popular tunes while serving meals. Tune in and bring your appetite for Finger Snappin’ Treats like Cream Cheese Jalapeño Poppers or Chili Cheese Fries.

Warm up with a bowl of Jimmy Cracked Corn Chicken Chowder then order the Smoke Gets In Your Eyes Burger. This juicy beef treat includes lettuce, tomato, onion, cheddar cheese and smoked bacon. Wraps, salads, sensational sandwiches, Blue Plate Specials and desserts like the Classic Cobbler are always music to your stomach.

Danna’s Bar•B•Que & Burger Shop

The ribs at Danna’s Bar•B•Que & Burger Shop are meaty with big, bold flavors and come served with Memphis Rolls. What’s a Memphis Roll you ask? These scrumptious sides are fried sour dough rolls with melted butter oozing from the center.

Those who like it piled high will enjoy the Big Big Pig sandwich. This whopper places 7 ounces of pork on Texas Toast next to a mound of fries. According to the menu, the Smoked Pit Plate can serve two. But you might want to invite a few more people to dinner—because this one includes pulled beef, ½ chicken, pulled pork, smoked sausage, ribs, beans, coleslaw, French fries and a Memphis Roll. Danna’s Premium Custard and Sundaes are sweet ways to finish up your meal.

With aged cheddar, smokehouse bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard and a fried egg for good measure, the Ozark Burger is for serious eaters only. You can also savor selections like the Chicken Fried BLT, Pot Roast, Iron Skillet Trout and Center Cut Sirloin. Be sure to top your meal off with with a Dino’s 24 Carrot Cake for dessert.

When you think of BBQ, pitmasters certainly come to mind. At the RibCrib, they recommend you try the Brisktacular Basket, Motherlode and Redneck Noodler—a mouthwatering medley of fried catfish, smoked chicken, fries, slaw juicy corn on the cob and slaw. Slide in for Sliders that include the Cribwich® made with hot links and brisket on a toasted bun.

The Pigman is a half-pound of slow-smoked brisket and pulled pork smothered in a secret sauce then topped with pickles and onion. As for the ribs, they’re all championship caliber. The Baby Back ribs are traditional favorites, as are the dry-rubbed original.

For a finger lickin’ good rack of ribs, be sure to sink your teeth into the Sweet & Sticky BBQ ribs. These saucy delights are basted then seared in a sweet and savory glaze sure to have you coming back for seconds.
