Spring at Disney World®
Disney’s spectacular landscaping comes to life with bursts of colorful flowers and amazing topiary Disney characters at the Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival! Running from March 2 to May 15, 2016, the annual festival features free outdoor concerts, gardening demonstrations, and access to 13 mini outdoor kitchens featuring fresh, farm-to-table dishes—all included in the park’s admission price.
If you’re in Orlando during the Easter Holiday don’t miss Disney’s Egg-stravaganza! This seasonal celebration includes Easter services, themed arts and crafts, games and parades throughout the parks. At Epcot’s World Showcase, hunt for oversized Easter eggs painted with your favorite Disney characters. Head to Town Square on Main Street U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom and enjoy a special meet-and-greet with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny. Hop to it!
Spring means baseball, and from March 1 – April 2, 2016, fans will be able to catch the Atlanta Braves at their spring training season home base at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, where they’ll play out their 19th training season!
Big parades, street performers, and New Orleans bands celebrate Mardi Gras from February 6 through April 16, 2016. Try the andouille sausage, spicy jambalaya and delicious French Quarter food or enjoy more than a dozen concerts scheduled on select days throughout the season. For free souvenirs, be sure to catch handfuls of beads tossed by street performers, stilt walkers, and dazzling floats as they parade through the park every night.
Celebrate Latin music and culture at Viva La Musica!, a fiery and family-friendly festival that takes place at SeaWorld from April 16, 2016 to May 14, 2016. Already in its 9th year, this festival features live concerts and Latin cuisine each Saturday. Admission is included with SeaWorld passes, and performances by popular Latino artists and bands begin at 3:00 pm.
The 2016 LEGOLAND® water park season opens March 12 with a dance party and character meet-and-greets! This year, LEGOLAND® celebrates the opening of Creative Cove, a new interactive area that includes hands-on activities built just for kids. Build and race LEGO watercraft and enjoy Imagination Station, where toddlers and older children can build bridges, dams, and anything they can imagine creating with DUPLO® bricks!
Spring In and Around Orlando
For 62 years, Orlando’s neighboring City of Winter Park has hosted its famous Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26. Children up to 10 years of age are invited to hunt for more than 10,000 eggs hidden in Winter Park’s beautiful Central Park. Be sure to get there early! Children begin lining up at 9:30 am and Festivities begin promptly at 10 am.
