Four Fab Restaurants in the Arizona Desert

Arizona Eating Bluegreen

The American Southwest is an awe-inspiring destination with wondrous landscapes, untamed wildlife and attractions your entire family will enjoy. You’ll also find food for every mood. Here are four restaurants we recommend you try during an Arizona vacation getaway.

Eggs Bluegreen

Kiss the Cook

Rise and shine with a stack of pancakes and thick-cut apple smoked bacon or fuel up with an order of eggs benedict. If you want something a little spicier to kick-start your Arizona vacation, try the New Orleans Cajun Omelet. It’s made with Kielbasa sausage, bell pepper, onion, Monterey Jack cheese and then smothered in Cajun Hollandaise sauce. At lunchtime, Kiss the Cook serves a classic selection of sandwiches, soups and salads. The Albacore tuna is made with water chestnuts and the roast beef is piled high and served cold. Health-conscious diners will enjoy the Fresh Spinach Salad. Made with baby spinach, seasonal fruit, bleu cheese, walnuts, red onions and raspberry vinaigrette, it’s a refreshing choice for an afternoon meal.

The Haymaker Restaurant Co

No matter the time of day, you can order breakfast, lunch or dinner at The Haymaker Restaurant Co. Start the day with some St. Louis Pork Ribs. They’re brushed with whiskey BBQ sauce then slowly flame broiled until tender and come with mac & cheese. Served in a flour tortilla with layered refried beans, melted cheese, two eggs, avocado, salsa, sour cream and choice of potato, the Huevos Rancheros are a tasty lunchtime treat off the breakfast menu. For dinner, enjoy comfort food like the Country Fried Chicken or the Blackened Fish Tacos. You’ll also find a tasty selection of burgers and dogs. Featuring a hamburger cooked your way plus pastrami, four strips of bacon, spicy mustard and Swiss cheese on a pretzel bun, the Cardiologist is a hearty meal for those with a big appetite.

Twisted Italian

For great Italian in the Arizona desert, sit down for a meal at Twisted Italian. This casual restaurant serves all the classics, with a culinary spin to enhance the dining experience. The Italian Relleno with Fried Ravioli is a signature dish featuring a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with Italian sausage, provolone, mozzarella, marinara, bell peppers and Italian spices. Everything is then covered with diced fresh tomatoes, red onions, basil, a tomato cream sauce and plenty of melted cheese.  On the All-Day Menu you’ll find everything from Bruschetta, Meatball Sliders, Chicken Pesto Panini and Eggplant Parmesan sandwich to strawberry goat cheese salad, Fettucine Alfredo, Shrimp Scampi, King Cut Lasagna and Pork Loin Marsala.

Gordon Biersch Bluegreen

Gordon Biersch

Since 1988, Gordon Biersch has been serving meals made from scratch and handcrafted beer in a relaxing atmosphere. Stop in during your desert vacation and begin with an order of Mushroom Risotto Bites or Blue Crab Artichoke Dip. The Chicken Schnitzel is one of the chef’s favorites and is prepared with breaded and pan fried crimini mushrooms with German dumplings in white wine and lemon caper sauce. If you’re looking for something under 600 calories, the Shrimp & Mango Tacos are sure to please. This tempting treat includes shrimp on corn tortillas with cabbage, mango, pico de gallo, cilantro, Sriracha cream, Mexican cream and a side cucumber and carrot salad.

Go Bluegreen

While you’re on your desert journey, plan for another oasis: Cibola Vista Resort and Spa, just outside of Phoenix. It’s an excellent getaway from the heat.
