Orlando is bringing new thrills, new laughs and new action in 2015, as it continues to fuel its legacy as the #1 family fun destination in the United States.

It’s always exciting to see what goodies the parks and the surrounding area have planned for the upcoming year, and 2015 will be especially magical. If you haven’t been to Orlando lately, there’s a universe of new excitement waiting for you to experience. I’ve gathered up the lowdown on new attractions, shopping, entertainment, and dining so you won’t miss a thing on your next family vacation to Orlando.

New Orlando Attractions in 2015

  1. Disney Springs’ Morimoto Asia
  2. Downtown Disney is expected to double in size as it transforms into Disney Springs. And the park has decided to roll out its new shops, restaurants and other venues in phases starting in 2015. One of the first restaurants to make its debut is Morimoto Asia—a unique dining experience created by Chef Masaharu Morimoto, of Iron Chef America. The two-story restaurant features private rooms, open terraces, waterside seating and more!

  3. Disney Springs’ STK Orlando
  4. Another restaurant set to unveil at Disney Springs in 2015 is STK Orlando. This Kardashian-approved restaurant takes fine dining to a new level. It blends a modern steakhouse appeal with a chic lounge vibe that encourages guests to interact and mingle. It’s the only rooftop-dining venue in Disney Springs and is always equipped with a live DJ.

  5. The BOATHOUSE at Downtown Disney
  6. Downtown Disney SpringsThe restaurant, which had its soft opening in April 2015, has three bars—The Captain’s Raw Bar, The Admiral’s Club Bar and The Dock Bar, which is built over the water. Additionally there is live music and guided romantic water taxi tours with champagne toasts and chocolate-covered strawberries. Or experience the unique Amphicar tour, which launches from land into the water, for a 20-minute tour of Disney Springs.

  7. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
  8. A star-studded lineup of top-notch entertainment is hitting the Dr. Philips Center for the Performing Arts this year for its opening season. The variety of talent is spectacular—from Broadway productions like Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Pippin to musical concerts by John Mellancamp, Jason Mraz and Idina Menzel to comedy routines from Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno and Bill Maher. All of which will complement an ongoing Jazz Roots series and Orlando Ballet season.

And at the center of it all is a 400-foot-tall observation wheel—The Orlando Eye. The complex is also home to world-famous Madame Tussauds wax museum, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and an equally exciting line-up of restaurants and shops!

  14. Perfect for the younger members of the family, this attraction supplies a full day of colorful fun! With roughly 25 hands-on activities, there’s plenty of opportunities to let your creativity run free, to play, explore, and learn. If you get hungry there is Café Crayola, and if you want a colorful souvenir or two, the Crayola Store has you covered. It’s located at the Florida Mall, so if you want to shop while your kids play, it’s just steps away.

  16. Soccer – or as much of the world calls it, “futbol” – is a beloved international sport with a passionate following unlike any other. It’s growing popularity in the U.S. has led to the Major League Soccer’s newest expansion team—The Orlando City Soccer Club. And now, with global soccer icon, Kaká, at the helm, they will play their first MLS season at the newly rebuilt Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium. There’s also an interactive show titled ‘Friends to the Rescue’ and a new shopping mall as well.
