On your next
Smoky Mountains vacation with Bluegreen resorts, head in to the charming lunch spot Wild Plum Tea Room. Though it is tucked away from downtown, there is still plenty to do around this popular dining destination. It is right in the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts community, featuring an 8-mile loop with studios and galleries galore. Before or after you make your way through all the shopping and browsing the area has to offer, make a quick escape to the quaint and comfortable Wild Plum Tea Room.
At first glance, you will see what appears to be a rustic house, featuring a screened in porch. But this place has been converted into a unique, sophisticated eatery on the inside. There are special touches around the room, including tea pots and cups and other china on display. Lovely lace cloths cover the tables in the cozy dining room. Though this is isn't your typical tea room, featuring teeny sandwiches and a long lists of teas, they do offer a short, yet satisfying lunch menu, with perfect portions and plenty of their signature plum tea.

The friendly staff will walk you through the reasonably priced gourmet menu, which changes frequently to reflect new dishes. The mini wild plum muffins with plum jelly are tasty and guests can't get enough of the fresh scones, salads, soups, and sandwiches. Past menu selections have included their palate pleasing pimento cheese, roast beef, Reuben, or the memorable chicken salad sandwich, served with vegetable or fruit salads, with some of their tea to wash it down. Enjoy a sampler of their desserts, with options like bread pudding or fruit cobbler.
On your visit, purchase the Wild Plum Tea Room cookbook or recipe cards or even a tea pot of your own, to recreate the treats you and family loved time and time again. They are located less than 5 miles or ten minutes drive from Bluegreen's
MountainLoft and about half an hour drive and less than 15 miles from
Laurel Crest.
