Sevierville’s Smoky Mountain NASCAR Speedpark is among the top Tennessee theme parks. Located just a short drive from both Bluegreen Laurel Crest and Mountainloft resorts in Pigeon Forge, the speedpark offers the best single-location assortment of go-kart tracks in the country.
Visitors to NASCAR Speedpark will also enjoy a superb single-floor arcade with over fifty different games; bumper boats; a rock climbing wall; miniature golf and a variety of state fair -style rides. So although the Speedpark is centered around NASCAR themed go-karts, guests need not be NASCAR fans nor karting enthusiasts to be entertained.
There’s a plethora of concession stands and a large gift shop near the front entrance, that sells park memorabilia and official NASCAR gear. Everything from t-shirts and coffee mugs to specific driver die-cast models is offered in the store.
The nine different go-kart tracks on the property all have
something unique to offer. The flagship attraction and largest track in the park is the Smoky Mountain Speedway. It’s a quarter mile D-shaped oval where park-goers drive 3/8 scale replicas of actual Sprint Cup series cars around a NASCAR-style banked oval.
The other tracks are mostly road courses with varying degrees of difficulty built into the track layout and kart types. Safety-related height restrictions range from 40-60 inches, depending on what age groups a track is meant to attract. However, if your son or daughter wants to ride on a circuit he or she is not tall enough for, they can most likely ride as a passenger in a two-seater kart available on the Family 500 road course track.
Consider planning a whole-family event party at the Speedpark. All sorts of great accommodations are already in place for special events. Only 10 party guests are needed to arrange for discounted passes, which include invitations, all-day unlimited rides, 40 arcade tokens, a reserved party room for 90 minutes, personal pizzas, drinks and more. Other group discounts are also available, so feel free to ask about special programs if you're planning a birthday vacation.
The NASCAR Speedpark is open every day except Christmas, and typical hours are 11am to 10pm. Hours can fluctuate, depending on the season and other events at the park, so check the park’s website for hours of operation prior to your visit.
Since rain is an issue with go-karts, inclement weather can close down the tracks until the surfaces are dry again. In the event of wet track delays, , NASCAR Speedpark offers ticketholders open-ended rain checks on all outdoor experiences.
This park is another one of the many reasons why people love Bluegreen vacations in the Smoky Mountains.
