Boca Raton, Fla., - May 7, 2012–Bluegreen Vacations, a leading provider of Colorful Places to Play, is proud to announce it met its goal to raise $50,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by participating in the JDRF 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes. On Saturday, March 31, Bluegreen President and CEO John Maloney served as the Corporate Chairman for the event, which will take place at the Mizner Amphitheater located in Mizner Park, in Boca Raton, FL.
The national Walk toCure Diabetes event brings together millions of individuals in support of finding a cure. Each year, Bluegreen serves as an important part of the walk, serving as a sponsor to the Boca Raton, Florida event and as a team of 100 Walkers raising funds for the cause. This year, Bluegreen gathered walkers from its corporate headquarters and nearby resorts to raise $50,014.
“I look forward to serving as the Corporate Chariman for the Walk to Cure Diabetes every year, and enjoy participating in the Walk,” explains Maloney. “This year, I was especially proud of the individuals at Bluegreen who went above and beyond to raise $50,000 for the cause, and bring attention to Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).”
