Resort Report: A Quiet, Sunny Little Spot in Orlando

Orlando can be a hectic place, but Orlando’s Sunshine Resort™ offers a welcome respite for ambitious theme-park goers. Set slightly off the beaten path, but still close to all the popular attractions, this Bluegreen resort may just be the best place to stay to experience tranquil nights after long days in the Florida sun. That doesn’t mean it isn’t the perfect place to catch some rays or get a little exercise, however.

Over the last year or so, major renovations made this smaller, homelike property into a better-than-new vacation destination. Except for a few small-scale upgrades, this was the most extensive renovation to the property since Bluegreen took ownership of it 8 years ago. The recent renovations give the property and its 2-bedroom condo-style accommodations a completely new look.

True to Floridian style, the new interior décor focuses on a beachy, tropical theme. The overall tropical atmosphere is enhanced by the massive renovation of the pool deck. The pool deck and pool interior were completely resurfaced and new patio furniture was added to the deck, creating an ideal location for lounging in the Orlando sunshine. Today, the pool is a luxurious oasis with comfy lounge chairs and its own snack bar. There is also a kiddie pool and kids’ activities like arts and crafts. Shuffleboard and tennis are available for those who haven’t spent all their energy waiting in line at the Disney parks.

Convenience is a major feature of Orlando’s Sunshine Resort. Guests can purchase 1-, 3-, 5- and 7-day passes for the International Drive trolley. The trolley travels along this main thoroughfare all day, making stops at restaurants and major activity centers, including Sea World, Discovery Cove, Wet ‘n’ Wild, Prime Outlets, Orlando Premium Outlets and the Orange County Convention Center. It’s a great way to save gas and explore the limitless attractions that draw people from all over the world to this well-traveled boulevard.

For its location, convenience and relaxing, friendly atmosphere, Orlando’s Sunshine Resort is Bluegreen’s best-kept secret in the heart of America’s favorite family destination.
