New Orleans French Quarter Wine Festival

Wine enthusiasts rejoice! Beginning March 15, 2011 until May 13th, 2011, the fifth annual French Quarter Wine Festival will occur. Plan your New Orleans French Quarter vacation with Bluegreen around one of New Orleans' best events. The Maison DuPuy will host the French Quarter Wine Festival this year, a unique luxury New Orleans Hotel, located just two blocks from Bourbon Street.

One of the most exciting New Orleans events, the festival gives guests the opportunity to attend dinners hosted by participating winemakers and proprietors from around the world. It has been modeled after the prestigious Boston Wine Festival and will include the Grand Opening, followed by various dinners planned throughout March, April and May, concluding with the Closing Reception on the 13th.

New Orleans French Quarter Wine FestivalFourteen wineries were selected to be involved, by founder Daniel Bruce, with innovative menus prepared by Chef Michael Farrell in Le Meritage to compliment the perfectly selected wine menu. Events for one of New Orleans' best French Quarter festivals start off with the Grand Opening, where vino lovers can celebrate the beginning of the festivities. More than 50 wines will be available for sampling from participating wineries, along with a generous buffet of Chef Farrell's dishes.

Additional events for the festival include an elegant four-course dinner, to be paired with Opus One Winery of Napa Valley one evening. There are also a few other exciting wineries from Napa Valley and Sonoma, California featured on the calendar as well, along with evenings hosted by wineries in Oregon, Washington, and Italy. Hugo Stabio will be hosting a dinner featuring the Argentinean wine Luigi Bosca, featuring their reserve Malbec, along with other wine selections. Then the Closing Reception will allow guests to pay tribute to some of the year's best wines, while also having a preview of what's to come in 2012. Chef Farrell will create a special buffet featuring white and red wine inspired dishes to conclude the festival on a memorable note.
