Located along the beautiful South Carolina coastline, Myrtle Beach is a prime target for family vacationers. The area’s mild climate and host of accommodations and entertainment options make it an ideal choice for any family looking for the perfect getaway. The busy trappings of modern life can make it difficult for families to spend quality time together. Myrtle Beach can serve not only as a relaxing escape for your Bluegreen vacation, but also as an opportunity for your family to experience quality bonding time.
There is no shortage of family-friendly activities in Myrtle Beach to participate in during your Bluegreen vacation. You can start out with
Ripley’s Aquarium, where you and the kids will not only have a blast, but it’s an educational experience as well. Located in Broadway at the Beach, an entertainment and dining complex, Ripley’s Aquarium is 85,000 square feet filled with the most fascinating sea creatures on the planet. Make your way down a moving 340-foot-long glidepath in Dangerous Reef, a clear acrylic tunnel where you can almost reach out to everything from snappers to sea turtles and everyone’s favorite sea predators, SHARKS!
General admission prices include dive shows, marine science presentations and special exhibitions.
If you’ve worked up an appetite after a busy day at the aquarium or on the beach and you want a little seaside ambiance during a beautiful Myrtle Beach sunset, the
2nd Ave Pier & Restaurant is a picturesque choice. There are plenty of fresh seafood menu items, but landlubbers aren’t left out either, with chicken, barbeque and burgers to choose from.

You came to Myrtle Beach for your Bluegreen vacation, so seaside attractions are probably at the top of your wish list. If you and yours are ripe for a little adventure,
Ocean Watersports can satisfy your thrill-seeking urges. Rent jet skis, go parasailing, or for something a little different, you and the whole family can take a banana boat ride. The banana boat, which accommodates up to six people, can take you a few miles down the coast and then offshore for a spectacular view of Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand. If parasailing doesn’t satisfy your hunger for airtime, take a helicopter ride provided by
Huffman Helicopters. The pilot will take you on a two-mile ride over to the beach and back with panoramic views.
Maybe you’re in the mood for a little friendly competition between you and the family with Bluegreen? Myrtle Beach is known for its mini golf, and at Mt. Atlanticus Miniature Golf, you have a jungle-like atmosphere where 36 holes of miniature golf await you. The course runs parallel to the ocean and is adorned with huts, palms, and mythical creatures.
Or take a trip back in time…Medieval times to be exact.
Medieval Times® in Myrtle Beach is one of only eight of their locations in the country, so if the royal treatment is what you are after, take advantage of the opportunity. Bask in a meal fit for a king and watch ringside as knights compete in jousting, sword and ax battles. But don’t worry, you’re just a spectator.

Of course there are plenty more conventional and present-day accommodations for Bluegreen Myrtle Beach visitors.
Barefoot Landing, located along the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach, offers shopping, dining, and family entertainment. The landing is situated in natural surroundings, where waterfowl, exotic fish and other wildlife make their home. Gentle breezes blow across the 27-acre lake, making a stroll along the boardwalk a serene experience. Keep an eye out for upcoming events that may include everything from carnival games, pony rides, and live music. If you want to supersize your festivities, we return to where we began.
Broadway at the Beach,® home of Ripley’s Aquarium, is the largest festival entertainment complex in South Carolina, with its 350-acre entertainment complex that offers restaurants, entertainment, nightclubs and shopping. If it’s selection that you’re after, Broadway at the Beach hosts 19 restaurants, over 100 specialty shops, two movie theater complexes, a nightclub district, theaters with live shows, and other major venues. These are but a few of the family-friendly attractions that can be enjoyed while on vacation at any of
