In July 1996, the Magnolia Bakery was just a small old-fashioned family owned and operated bakery and café in the West Village. They have since grown to include locations throughout Manhattan including Upper West Side, Rockefeller Center, and Grand Central Terminal. Though there are a variety of options to choose from, their most popular cupcake is a simple vanilla cupcake, with many fans of their red velvet as well. Other classics like chocolate or carrot are available or try a Southern treat, the Hummingbird cupcake, featuring bananas, pineapples and pecans, with sweet cream cheese icing. S'mores, Snickerdoodle, and Devil's Food cupcakes are amongst the many delicious options as well.
