You can't see just one.
Each show is a gateway to the next, and it seems like every new production is better than the last. Since 1984, the Montreal-based company has wowed more than 100 million spectators with wild acrobatics, stunning costumes and settings and more. Cirque has performed all over the world, creating both permanent performances as well as traveling acts.
In 2011 alone, an estimated 15 million people will see a Cirque du Soleil show. The only question is, which one? There's a Cirque du Soleil flavor for all tastes and locations. The following list includes some of our favorite shows, which you'll find near Bluegreen resorts in Orlando and Las Vegas.
You've spent the day on physical rides at Walt Disney World. Now it's time for a mental ride, with Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba at Walt Disney World Resort, in Orlando, near The Fountains. A collision of dreams and reality, clowns and humans, truth and fantasy, La Nouba suspends belief and turns your world upside down—literally.
Viva Elvis, Las VegasViva Elvis at Aria Resort & Casino at CityCenter plays tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll, and all of his hip-swiveling glory. Singers, dancers and acrobats bring Elvis Presley back to life, as they take the audience on a tour of this hunk of burning love's world. Hits including "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Suspicious Minds" will have die-hard fans on their feet, and set everyone's soul on fire.
O
A cross between an aquatic opera, an Olympic-style ballet and a watery dream, O is a story told by world-class acrobats, divers and synchronized swimmers. Since 1998, Bellagio crowds have been in awe of this elegant show, which takes place in a 1.5-million gallon swimming pool—easily the most unique stage in Las Vegas. O can be seen during a vacation to Bluegreen Club 36.
KaWhile there are many fascinating characters in Ka at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the most compelling is its stage. Throughout the show, this 360-degree rotating stage changes shapes, elevations, landscapes and more, even appearing to be underwater. It's the perfect setting for the dramatic story about two twins who have been separated and embark on a journey to reunite.
The Beatles LOVEThe spirit of the Fab Four lives on at the Mirage, in Las Vegas. The Beatles LOVE brings together the best of the Beatles, with hits such as "All You Need is Love, "Hey Jude," "Strawberry Fields," and more. The soundtrack serves as a backdrop to wild acrobatics, as Cirque du Soleil brings you as close as you'll ever get to a Beatles' concert.
Criss Angel Believe
Criss Angel, one of the world's most beloved "street" magicians, wooed fans with his A & E series, "Mindfreak." Now, you can see the mystical master in action during Criss Angel Believe at the Luxor in Vegas. Angel teamed up with Cirque du Soleil to create this dark and stormy journey through his life—or is it his death? You'll have to see to understand.
