With more than 100 shows on 50 stages, it’s no wonder Branson is known as
the Live Music Show Capital of the World. Here you’ll find a venue for almost every type of music and performance. You’ll also find 60,000 theater seats—an honor that New York’s Broadway District can’t even claim. If you think all this wonderful Ozark entertainment is too far in the mountains to enjoy, think again. For 1/3 of Americans, Branson is less than a day’s drive away.

The show that started it all
In 1959 brothers Jim, Bill, Lyle and Bob Mabe began entertaining people in an old skating rink near Lake Taneycomo. They called themselves the Baldknobbers and performed twice a week. Their act was Branson’s first show—and 50 years later the Baldknobbers Jamboree is still setting the standard for live entertainment and family fun with a blend of zany humor and country music.
