Glitzy casinos and sparkling shows are only part of the allure of
Las Vegas. What completes the travel experiences are the spectacular side trips only hours away. The Grand Canyon. Hoover Dam. Death Valley National Park. Sure, you could drive to these destinations during your Bluegreen vacation. But if you want to go in style, there's only one option. Think pink.
Call
Pink Jeep Tours and join the 40,000 every year who rely on the premier guided excursion service in the Southwest. The color of your vehicle may be pink, but the service, begun in 1960, is celebrating its golden anniversary as the gold standard in the industry.
You'll board the Tour Trekker, the 10-seat, custom-built charter that uniquely blends all-terrain toughness with first-class amenities. You can reserve a single seat or two and make friends with other tourists, or you can opt to reserve the whole Trekker exclusively for your group. And Pink Jeep Tours will pick you up at any major hotel or resort in Las Vegas, including
Bluegreen Club 36.
The origin of the company is as unique as the sights along the tours. Don Pratt, an Arizona Realtor, had no preconceived notion of starting a tour business in 1958 when he took a group of investors around scenic Sedona in his Jeep hoping to interest them in property. Along the way, the business deal became secondary to the awesome beauty the group encountered. Duly inspired, Pratt began his Jeep tours two years later. The signature color came after Pratt and his wife vacationed at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Waikiki, iconic for its wall-to-wall pinkness and owned by Henry Kaiser, manufacturer of a line of pink Jeeps.
Pink Jeep Tours was a staple of Sedona, Arizona for the first four decades of its existence. In 2001, Shawn Wendell -- who bought the company in 1988 -- established a second hub in Las Vegas. Sedona and Las Vegas remain the two operations bases for Pink Jeep Tours today. Lucky for you, both bases are reachable from Bluegreen resorts! The Las Vegas site is near Bluegreen Club 36, of course, and the Sedona site is about an hour and a half from the Bluegreen resort in Peoria, < a href="http://www.colorfulplaces.com/bluegreen-resorts/cibola-vista-resort-peoria-az">Cibola Vista Resort and Spa.

Wendell's other significant imprint on the company was upgrading the luxury of the fleet and the polish of tour guides, resulting in first-class tour of some of the most remote areas of the Southwest. Tour Trekkers are insulated, air-conditioned, specially engineered for smooth riding, and equipped with individual DVD players and reclining leather captain seats. Through large windows you can take in all the natural beauty of the desert en route to your tour destination.
And the destinations are spectacular, including multiple options for the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. Other trips include Eldorado Canyon, Mount Charleston, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire and Zion National Park. On your next trip to Las Vegas with Bluegreen Resorts, think Pink.
