The Miami Beach Golf Club opened in 1923 as a course for the wealthy winter residents of Miami, Florida. During WWII, the U.S. Army rented the Miami golf course of for training, changing the space from luxury grounds to military fields. Thankfully, the war ended and the grounds were redeveloped into the beautiful greens they were meant to be in the 1950s. And most recently, in 2002, the course received a $10 million face-lift. Situated in the heart of Historic Miami Beach, near the Bluegreen resort Solara Surfside, this course has attracted millions of avid golfers over the past 90-odd years. One can only imagine the tales of Golden Age golfers, young soldiers and up-and-coming Miami socialites these greens have seen. As beautiful as it is historically relevant to the rise of Miami, this course is sure to please.

He was personally responsible for designing over 160 courses throughout the nation, and is known for making courses that are playable and enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels. Included in the list of courses designed by Hills are The Landings in Savannah, Georgia and Palmetto Dunes, South Carolina. Thanks to Hills’ work, the grounds are one of Miami’s most beautiful and highly regarded golf courses.

The Miami Beach Golf Club offers an 18-hole regulation length course with water near all but two holes, as well as a driving range. The course has a par 72 from the longest tees and measures 6,903 yards. It has a course rating of 73.0, with a slope rating of 127.
