On your next Daytona Beach vacation with Bluegreen, step out for some fun and visit the
Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. Climb 203 steps to the top of the Florida Lighthouse and see spectacular panoramic views of one of the world’s most famous beach locales. At a towering 175 feet, the Ponce De Leon Lighthouse is the tallest in the state of Florida and the second tallest in the United States. Only Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina stands taller at 207 feet. The Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association has restored the national historic landmark over the years and it now serves as a popular Daytona Beach attraction year round.
The history of lighthouses in Daytona Beach and the personal stories of lighthouse keepers and their families are highlighted at the museum. During your visit, you will enjoy a 20-minute introductory film about the lighthouse and its history. You can walk through 12 areas which feature varied exhibits. Tour the keeper’s quarters and other historical buildings located on the grounds. Explore the rare artifacts on display and discover one of the finest Fresnel lens collections in the world. Peruse the lens exhibit building that was built in 1995. The sparkling first-order lens from the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, which dates back to 1868, is housed in the building.

Completed in 1887, the Florida Lighthouse was built with stunning Victorian bricks that remain intact today. The national historic landmark still functions as a warning device against maritime hazards. Serving as an active lighthouse to this day, it remains one of only a handful in the U.S. that has many of its original buildings still standing.
On your visit, celebrate your family and friends by purchasing a memorial brick to commemorate the occasion. Approximately 125,000 locals and visitors journey to the Ponce De Leon Lighthouse each year. It is located approximately 12 miles south of Daytona Beach.
