Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo in Myrtle Beach. Beachgoers on the lookout for that great escape continue to flock to the Grand Strand, a hot spot for a vacation in South Carolina over the past few decades. Grand Strand gets its name from a string of beach communities stretching from Little River, North Carolina to Georgetown, South Carolina. The large beach expanse extends over 60 miles and has grown into a major Myrtle Beach attraction. The
Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo competition is a six-month long festival that showcases Myrtle Beach fishing at its best. Anglers of any age can compete for a chance to win cash and prizes. While on your Myrtle Beach vacation, enter your catch from pier, surf, inlet or deep-sea fishing and walk away with up to $2,000. Year after year, fishing enthusiasts enter their catches of Blackfin Tuna, Bluefish, Flounder, Grouper, and Yellowfin Tuna for a chance to win. Anglers can hook awards like the Fish of the Month, Largest Species, and Outstanding Catch. Over 500 participants can win decals, shoulder patches, trophies, medals, and the coveted cash prize. What a great way to make some extra cash and win fishing souvenirs during your South Carolina vacation!
The fishing competition is sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and runs from April 1
st through October 31
st. There is no entry fee for the
Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo and participation is encouraged for all recreational fishermen. To encourage non-stop casting during the six-month period, participants can earn prizes monthly. Some events call for teams while others are strictly for the solo fisherman. If you get the urge to keep your fish, of course, one would certainly understand. After all, Myrtle Beach considers itself the Seafood Capital of South Carolina.
The Take a Kid event during this Myrtle Beach fishing competition introduces youngsters to the great sport of fishing and offers an opportunity for parents to bond with their kids.
