Mt. Olympus Water Park: Pinnacle of Fun in the Dells

There's no bigger theme park in Wisconsin Dells than the Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park right next to Bluegreen Odyssey Dells. The name of the park befits its size and impact on visitors, whether locals or families in the area on a vacation. This 156-acre, must-experience family adventure actually is four parks in one, and whether you love roller coasters, go-karts or water slides, it features thrill rides and amusements you'll never forget. Your odyssey from Zeus' Playground to Neptune's Water Kingdom and into the two indoor parks, the Parthenon and Medusa's Indoor Water Park, will dare you with challenges from 37 water slides, six roller coasters and eight go-kart tracks -- all worthy of the ancient Greek legends for which they're named.

And talk about convenient; Mount Olympus is adjacent Bluegreen’s Odyssey Dells Resort and just a Zeusian lightning bolt's hurl away from Bluegreen's other Dells resort, Christmas Mountain Village.

Let's start in Zeus' Playground, the outdoor theme park. The biggest attraction here is the wooden roller coaster Hades, ranked among the top wooden coasters in the country every year since it opened in 2005. Hades is known for the 65-degree, 140-foot plummet into the longest underground roller coaster tunnel in the world.

Go-kart lovers have exotic courses in Zeus' Playground including the Trojan Horse, which takes racers through the belly of the famous, huge, wooden horse, and the Poseidon Underwater Go-Kart Track.

Neptune's Water Kingdom is an outdoor park featuring water slides of all kinds, from speed slides with names like Thunder and Lightning to raft slides like Triton's Rage and Triton's Fury to kiddie slides like Little Dipper. The best-known attraction at Neptune's Water Kingdom, though, is Poseidon's Rage, a wave pool featuring a 9-foot surf wave, highest in the United States and second highest in the world. And just think, it's just down the street from your Bluegreen resort!

Inside the Parthenon, the first indoor theme park ever built at the Dells, you can ride everything from roller coasters to bumper cars to tea cups and try to win prizes at the arcade. And the many slides and attractions at Medusa's Indoor Water Park include Anaconda, the 10-story-high tube slide.

In ancient Greek lore, Mt. Olympus was home of the gods. In the modern-day Dells, it is the pinnacle of family fun. Don't myth it during your next Bluegreen vacation.
