Every delicious item on the Seasons 52 menu is under 475 calories. You can check nutritional values online before you leave home, as well as count on selections for lactose-free, low sodium, gluten-free, garlic-free, vegetarian, or vegan diets. It seems impossible that pork tenderloin with polenta, broccoli, cremini mushrooms and shallot-Dijon glaze could be under 475 calories. The key is in the style of cooking (wood-fired and brick oven) and controlled ingredients. The real drawing card is the mini-indulgences dessert menu that features shot-size glasses of sweets like chocolate peanut butter mousse and mocha macchiato.

As casual as a Panera, but with a more upscale selection, locally owned Greens & Grille is a hit among Orlando locals, especially during lunch. Soups, sides, and dressings are homemade from scratch. Produce is locally sourced, thus super fresh. Grilled herb marinated chicken or natural pork loin added to romaine, black beans, sweet corn, peppers, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese with chipotle lime dressing makes a hearty meal of a salad.

North of both Sunshine Resort (8 minutes) and The Fountains (17 minutes).

A hidden gem amid the flashy signs in Orlando, Tabla Bar & Grill takes advantage of the healthy cuisine of India beyond traditional curries. Dishes feature selections made with lentils, chick peas, and other legumes. Spices and yogurt add zest to skin-off tandoori grilled chicken dishes (and tandoori lobster). Indian specialties include Murgh Dhansak: chicken breast simmered in a pumpkin lentil sauce with fenugreek. Desserts to try are homemade ice cream and mango breule.

The “Flats” in Urban Flats refers to flatbreads baked in a stone-hearth oven, topped with the freshest seasonal ingredients. Crispy flatbread performs the function of bread for an open-faced sandwich or acts as a pizza-like base for piling on sun-dried tomato pesto, oven-roasted veggies, and parmesan cheese - or roasted garlic puree, crispy pancetta, arugula, tomatoes and cheese. The urban décor features historic photos of Orlando painted concrete floors and, a must in Florida, outside dining. If you want something hearty, but don’t want the hefty calories, head here for some smart servings.

In downtown Orlando, 15 minutes north of Sunshine Resort and 25 minutes north of The Fountains.
