Las Vegas wants to entertain you. Wants to entertain you so badly that the hotels and casinos have spent billions of dollars to do so, offering world-class shows and activities without charging you a dime. Next time you stay your Las Vegas vacation at Bluegreen Club 36 we challenge you to assemble an itinerary of entirely free activities. From the Bellagio Conservatory and fountain show to a trip down Confectionary Lane at Ethel’s Chocolate, Las Vegas’ free sights will keep you so busy you’ll forget about spending money. We’ve put together a list of must-see freebies to get you started.
Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
Green thumbs turn greener with envy upon entering this 13,000-square-foot horticultural masterpiece.
Bellagio Conservatory is home to five alternating displays throughout the year with seasonal themes including the holidays, Chinese New Year, spring, summer and fall. One hundred forty expert horticulturists create the blooming designs, and on average each creation includes 40 trees, 1,500 shrubs and 10,000 blooming plants. The water feature is open daily, 24 hours a day all but five weeks a year as the displays are changed.
Bellagio Fountains
Water, music and light swirl together in an aquatic ballet during the
Bellagio Fountains show. Watch water anthropomorphize, gracefully dancing with sprays more than 460 feet high on an 8-acre lake. The romantic show is choreographed to tunes from Broadway, Sinatra and other classics and is a must-see for every Vegas visitor. Performances take place every 30 minutes Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday noon – 8 p.m.; After 8 p.m. daily, performances are every 15 minutes until midnight.
Ethel’s Chocolate
Nevada’s own version of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory is located about 10 miles from the Las Vegas Strip and near your Bluegreen resort. Take a free self-guided tour of
Ethel ’s Chocolate and watch how the chocolate transforms from liquid to delicious, as evidenced by the free sample given to each visitor. Following your chocolate adventure burn some calories by wandering through the three-acre cactus gardens surrounding Ethel’s. Tours are offered Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Fall of Atlantis at Caesars Palace
Come for Gucci, stay for the fountain shows. Statues come to life within the
Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, a 675,000-square-foot, Roman-themed shopping destination. The Fall of Atlantis show, in which King Atlas puzzles over which of his children should rule Atlantis, is kitsch incarnate. A fire, flood and animatronics galore take center stage during the show. But if mythology isn’t your thing, you can just as easily amuse yourself with people watching (also free!) at the Forum Shops. Shows start at the top of every hour Sunday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. - midnight.
Fremont Street Experience
If you want to see the star attraction of downtown Las Vegas during your Bluegreen vacation, just look up. The Viva Vision light canopy straddles the historic
Fremont Street casinos with more than 12.5 million synchronized lights backed by a 550,000-watt sound system cranking out classic-rock favorites, including hits from Kiss, the Doors, Queen, Don McLean and more. Shows happen five times nightly.
